In March 2022 FATA signed the EPC contract for the construction of a 72MW open cycle power plant of METAENERGIA Srl. The plant, will be built in the Termoli industrial area, consists of n.4 WARTSILA 18V50SG gas engines of 18MW each. The engines will be produced in the WARTSILA factory in Trieste.
Metaenergia has been operating in the free market since 2009, supplying electricity and natural gas to the corporate, business and domestic segments.
The Termoli plant falls within the Capacity Market program, a mechanism by which Terna procures energy under long-term supply contracts awarded through competitive auctions.
The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for June 2023.
