On February 19, 2022 FATA signed the EPC contract, in consortium with SIEMENS Energy Global, SIEMENS Energy Italia and DEMONT, for the construction of the Ostiglia power plant of EP Produzione S.p.A., which has an installed capacity of 4.3GW just for the Italian market, resulting among the main Italian players in the electricity production sector.
The combined cycle power plant in Ostiglia will have an installed electrical power capacity of approx. 880MW and will be built with a latest generation SIEMENS SGT5-9000HL gas turbine.
The combined cycle with the SIEMENS H-Class turbine is currently the most efficient and performing in the world, with an efficiency of over 64% in combined cycle.
The Ostiglia plant falls within the Capacity Market program, a mechanism by which Terna procures energy under long-term supply contracts awarded through competitive auctions.
The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for February 2025.
