NEO Aluminio Colombia and FATA have signed an agreement that advance the development of a low carbon aluminum production facility, the Green Aluminum Transformation Complex for Colombia (GALTCO).
Located in Colombia’s northwestern state of Sucre and powered with hydroelectricity, the plant is intended to reach capacity of 540 thousand tons of molten aluminum per year, using Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) state-of-the-art manufacturing technology developed in the United Arab Emirates. It will be the first aluminum production facility in Colombia, representing the cornerstone of a new industrial cluster creating jobs and economic opportunity for the country.
FATA is supporting Neo Aluminio Colombia by Co-Promoting the development of the GALTCO project by providing the design and feasibility study as well as EPC services for the execution of the project.
The agreement was signed by Carlos Santiago, Chief Executive Officer of Neo Aluminio Colombia, and by Andrea Lombardi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FATA.

The kick off meeting between the three Companies was held at the beginning of February, 2021, and the Project works are progressing expeditiously
