Thanks to FATA’s proven EPC capabilities to manage critical situations one year after the groundbreaking ceremony attended by the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, which took place on 19 December 2019, the EL-TO Zagreb power plant is getting more and more a reality in spite of the negative events that have characterized the year 2020.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the severe earthquake which hit the city of Zagreb on 22 March 2020 have negatively impacted the project activities but, nevertheless, the construction works have progressed thanks to the actions put in place by FATA team to mitigate the negative effects of the two aforesaid events on the progress of the works.
The limited space available for the construction works (less than 5,000 square meters) represents the most critical issue and requires a very detailed planning of the site activities.
The erection of the first heat recovery steam generator started in July 2020 and in March 2021 both gas turbines and relevant generators have been on foundations.
The pre-commissioning of the plant is expected to start during the second half of 2022.
